False advertising of cardholder benefits

Upon initially receiving my Academy card in the mail, enclosed was also a $15 off coupon for me to use on my next purchase. Fast forward to May 9, 2022 I placed an order online for a Yeti cup, but when I got to the checkout part of the transaction and input my promo code for the $15 discount coupon, it would not accept my code and said my code was invalid.

My purchase was also supposed to have free shipping, however it did not give me free shipping, I was charged $5.

When I contacted customer care I was passed around to five different agents, and informed that my code was invalid for the $15 off, and that they would not re-issue a coupon for me to use, as I was assured I would receive when I opened the account.

Then in regard to the shipping, they told me that some items dont qualify for the free shipping because they require extra handling practices when shipping the product so that the product doesnt arrive damaged to the customer.

That is BS, my Yeti cup came in a thin plastic bag placed in a box...that's it, no bubble wrap or air cushions of any type. I was careful to read all of the terms and conditions for the free shipping before placing my order, and according to customer care they still chose to charge me for shipping.

I am so disappointed that Academy does shady business like this to loyal customers.

Return and rude manager

DCalled the corporate number and they were rude as well. I bought my grandson a pair of pants for football Saturday.

They were a little small. I went to exchange for a bigger size and the clerk gave me 9.99 credit for a $30 pair of pant. All I wanted to do was exchange them. They rang up the same price as the ones I was buying.

Was charging $20 for not having a receipt. That is cheating people out of their hard earned money. The manager Jerry was rude. He needs to reprimanded for his rudeness.

I will order from now on on Amazon for what I need and have my friends and teams to not buy from sports academy.

You are stealing money from people. I will make sure all the food ball teams in our county dont use your company.

We use the academy store in Abilene the texas, every time we go the lines are backed up from the registers to the fitting rooms. And the service is slow and the help is unknowledgable. The store is unorganized and the shoe department is messy and not organized as well. Its this like this no matter how often or when we go. The average wait is at least 20 - more minutes to get checked out.

Manager embarrassed me in front of an associate

My friend was trying to purchase some items. The total was around $500.00.

She had her academy credit card. The associate said she couldn't use it because the name did not match. It was her husband's she's an authorized user. So I said I would pay for it an added the fishing pole that I was purchasing to the order.

I got my ID and debit card out and handed it to the associate. She called the manager they said it didn't look like me. My ID and card name matched. My driver's license picture is from 4 years ago.

I have lost a lot of weight due to being type 1 diabetic and having leukemia. The manager was very loud She kept asking the associate if it looked like me. I showed my social security card with the same name The manager refused to sell ke tg3 items. I was devastated why am I getting punished for being sick.

I did not deserve to be humiliated like this. I wasn't able to get the fishing pole that my husband wanted for our anniversary. My friend said she was calling corporate the manager started off she would remember our names and cards.

How do you treat people like this? I want a phone call to discuss this.

Refund not received back to my card. Purchases 5-1-22 and returned 5-1-22 due to size.

I was given a receipt for my refund and was told it would take 10 days. It has been 18 days and still no refund. I called today and spoke to Shane Williams first and he told me unfortunately he couldnt do anything that I had to contact the store. I called the store and was told the managers were in a meeting. I called 1-88*-***-**** and spoke with Jacob who took my information and said someone will call me right back.

I went to purchase a handgun my background was approve i was only waiting for the manager to sign off on it and he told me he was not gonna complete the transaction because he had reason to believe i was buying it for someone else he saw my husband all tattooed he assume i was buying it for him i ask him what was the reason and he couldn't give me one he discriminate my husband i called to make a complaint they said thay would get back to me once they see the video its been a month havent heard nothing.

I ordered a basketball game online. When it was delivered it was severely damaged!! All the employees agreed!!I drove 45 miles to exchange it. Instead I was followed and hounded by 2 teenagers trying to get me to apply for a credit card. They even followed me outside while I tried to get signal to pull up my bank account!! Long story short....They refunded my money to my checking account and didn't allow me to exchange it. This was my kids big Christmas present and I had to leave empty handed cause they wouldnt do a simple exchange. I drove 90 miles round trip for nothing!! I spend alot of money there for our family and I'm severely disappointed!!!

I am a first responder whom did not receive their monthly bill on time and received a late fee which your company on gave 15.00 off when I asked if it could be waived, most companies have always removed the entire fee. This was very upsetting to me and all my fellow first responders, I told.

You will not have my business nor will I ever open a credit card with your business.

About a month ago, your customer service told my husband that your company was sending a 50.00 gift card because something he experienced at one of your stores and that did not happen either. Very poor customer service all away around.
